Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply for the "Beads Online Jewellery Making Competition" Information and guidelines on how to enter form part of the terms and conditions of entry. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners. There is no limit to the number of pieces you may enter but they may not have been published works (including Readers Gallery) or entered in any other online beading competition. Please note this is a competition for Beads Online customers so the entry must contain 40% of product purchase from us.

By submitting an entry in the competition, entrants warrant that they agree to be bound by and have read and understood these terms and conditions.

1. DURATION
Entries will be accepted up to and including Wednesday 31th August 2011 (EST.) 23.00.

2. NATURE OF CONTEST
Beads Online Jewellery Making Competition is a contest for beaded items including, but not limited to jewellery, clothing, accessories or home wares. The beaded jewellery must contain at least 40% of items purchased from Beads Online.
Judging will be based on innovation, creativity and design.

3. METHOD OF ENTRY
Entries will only be accepted via the official contest entry procedure accessible at www.beadsonline.com.au . The promoter takes no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries. No entry will be considered if entered in a method other than via the official contest entry procedure via the internet.
Entry is open to permanent residents of Australia and New Zealand only. Entries must be from individuals only (companies or corporations will be excluded). Also the individual must not be associated with a competing bead company. Entrants may enter as many different beaded items as they which, but each individual beaded item may only be entered once. Entries will be accepted up to and including Wednesday 31th August 2011 (EST.) 23.00.

4. EXCLUSION OF PARTICIPANTS
The promoters reserve the right to remove from the competition, or participating in any prizes, entries which are deemed not to be within the guidelines, are deemed a copy or not an original work, are in breach of another's copyright, or for any reason whatsoever.

5. JUDGING
Major Prize
Judging for the major prize will be based on how well a design showcases and represents Beads Online. We are looking for a design which features the latest beading trends and will photograph well. Each consideration will be given equal weight.
Second Prize
Four winners of the second prizes will be chosen. As with the major prize it will be base on how well a design showcases a Beads Online products.
People Choice Awards
On the close of the competition (31st August) a gallery voting system will be set up where the public can vote for their favourite design. Voting will be open from 2nd September to the 12th September. The design that gathers the most votes will win.

The winner for the major prize & second prizes will be notified in the first weeks of September. The major prize winner will then be required to forward the beaded item to Beads Online studio where it will be professional photograph. The beaded items will be then returned. Beads Online will cover the postage cost.

Winner fo the people choice awards will be announced on the 13th September on facebook

In all matters, all decisions of the judges will be final and cannot be contested. No correspondence or discussions will be entertained.

6. PRIZE(s)
Major Prize:
- $200 Beads Online gift voucher
- Design will feature in our next print advert with full credits to the designer
Second Prize (four winners)
- Four winners of one $50 Beads Online gift voucher each
People Choice Awards
- $100 Beads Online gift voucher

7. PUBLICITY

It is a condition of entry that Beads Online has the right to publish or publicise the names and beaded item of any entrants for any promotion or matter incidental to the competition.

8. INDEMNITY
To the extent permitted by law, all contestants release from, and indemnify Beads Online (ACN 83 068 826 972 ) (“www.beadsonline.com.au”) against all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of any prize(s) or participation in the awards including (but not limited to) loss of income, loss of opportunity, personal injury and damage to property, whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.

9. COPYRIGHT
All photography used in this competition is copyright to Beads Online and cannot be reproduced in part or full in any other competition or publication without written permission from Beads Online . All entrants must undertake to Beads Online that their entry is not in breach of any third party intellectual property rights.

10. PRIZES NON TRANSFERABLE
In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize. The promoter takes no responsibility for any changes in the value of the prizes from the time of writing the terms & conditions.

11. TAXES
Winners will be responsible for any and all taxes incurred in relation to their receipt of their prize(s). Winners should seek independent financial advice prior to accepting a prize if this is a concern.

12. ELIGIBILITY
Individual associated with a competing bead company are ineligible to enter. Previous contractors and employees of Beads Online are not eligible to enter. Also pieces previously published in any magazine or magazine reader gallery or entered in any other beading completion are not eligible to enter.

13. TAMPERING
If for any reason these awards are not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to) technical failures, unauthorized intervention, computer virus, mobile phone failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond the control of Beads Online which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, Beads Online reserves the right, subject to State regulations, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.

14. INABILITY TO CONTACT
In the event that an entrant is not successfully contacted in a telephone call or email by the promoters, that entrant will be disqualified and a replacement entrant will be selected. In the event that a finalist is successfully contacted and in the course of the final judging or during the stage of preparation for publication of the winners announcement the promoter cannot contact the entrant, that entrant will be disqualified and a replacement entrant will be selected. All decisions of the promoter as to whether or not a contestant has been contacted or is contactable will be final and no discussion or correspondence will be entertained.

15. TERMINATION OF COMPETITION
Beads Online may, subject to State Regulations, terminate this competition or vary its terms at any time at its absolute discretion without liability to any entrant or other person.

16 RIGHTS TO ACTION
Any failure by the promoter to enforce any of these rules in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim by any other person.
